How the consultation works
Nothing is decided before you are assessed. Here is exactly what happens in a cosmetic injectables consultation at Brains Aesthetics, what we look at, and what you leave with. Free, around 15 minutes, with a highly experienced AHPRA-registered cosmetic nurse who takes a conservative approach.
Assessment before any decision
The order matters. Listening first, assessment second, options third. Treatment is a separate decision and never assumed.
Book a time
Choose a consultation slot online at our Williamstown clinic. A $20 deposit secures it and is refunded or credited later. No referral needed.
Before your visitTell us what you have noticed
Your nurse listens first. What is bothering you, what you would like to change, and what you would rather not change. We also take your medical history and any previous treatments.
Facial assessment
Your features are assessed at rest and in expression, and in proportion to the rest of your face. We check suitability and whether a skin treatment would serve you better than injectables. If so, we say so.
Options, risks and pricing
Where treatment is appropriate, your nurse explains what is involved, what it can and cannot do, the risks and limitations, alternatives, and the cost. The recommendation errs on the side of less.
You decide
Go ahead, book a separate treatment appointment, or take time to think. There is no pressure to decide on the day, and your deposit is refunded in full if you choose not to proceed.

Treating one area without looking at the rest is how faces end up looking done. Your nurse assesses the following before suggesting anything.
Facial balance
How your features relate to each other and where a small change would have the most natural effect.
Expression and movement
How lines form when you talk, smile and frown, and which ones are worth addressing.
Volume and structure
Where volume has shifted or reduced, and whether support or softening is the better approach.
Skin quality
Texture, hydration and pigmentation. Sometimes skin treatment gets a better result than injectables.
Suitability and history
Medical history, previous treatments and anything that would make a treatment inappropriate for you.
Your goals
What you want to change, what you want kept, and what a realistic outcome looks like.
What you leave with
- A clear read on what is going on and whether treatment is suitable.
- The options that fit, starting with the least.
- Risks, limitations and alternatives explained in plain terms.
- Pricing for anything recommended, before any decision.
- Time to think. No pressure to book on the day.
What we will not do
- Recommend a treatment you do not need.
- Treat an area without considering the rest of your face.
- Push you to decide on the day.
- Proceed if treatment is unsuitable for you.
- Aim for a look that does not look like you.
The consultation is free. A deposit secures your time
A $20 deposit secures your appointment. It helps reduce missed appointments and keeps consultation times available for clients ready to attend. It is fully refunded if you decide not to go ahead or treatment is not suitable, or applied as credit towards your treatment.

Do I need to know which treatment I want?
No. Book for the concern you would like to discuss. Your nurse assesses suitability and explains the options that fit, if any.
Can I have treatment on the same day?
Sometimes, where it is appropriate and you feel ready. Many people prefer a separate treatment appointment. Either way there is no obligation.
Will the results look natural?
That is the goal. Our nurse takes a conservative approach and plans for balance across the whole face, so the change is noticeable to you and not to everyone else.
Who will I see?
A highly experienced, AHPRA-registered cosmetic nurse. If a skin treatment would suit you better, your nurse may recommend a consultation with one of our degree-qualified dermal clinicians.
What if I need to reschedule?
We ask for at least 24 hours notice so your deposit can be refunded or carried over. Use the link in your booking confirmation or call 03 9996 7466.
